InterContinental Hotels Group is expanding across Africa after signing a development agreement with Aleph Hospitality.
A major development agreement between two industry giants will bring 10 new hotels to Africa. IHG will also expand its presence in key countries including Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Morocco, Algeria and Ghana. The expansion will span six brands, including Crowne Plaza, voco, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites.
Aleph Hospitality currently has nine hotels through five countries in Africa. IHG, on the other hand, operates in 29 countries across six brands on the continent.
“The increasing number of international guests will drive a surge in demand for world-class accommodation and these new properties will cater to the needs of travellers looking for high-quality hospitality experiences,” said Pascal Gauvin, managing director, India, Middle East and Africa, IHG.
