American Airlines hopes to serve travelers on their way to national parks next summer with new service to Montana and Alaska.
Three new seasonal flights to Bozeman (BZN) take off from Philadelphia (PHL), Los Angeles (LAX) and New York City (LGA). An additional route from New York City takes travelers to Kalispell (FCA), Montana. The seasonal flights begin June 2020 and operate through early September. Los Angeles flights occur daily, while flights from Philadelphia and New York City are available Saturday only.
Extra service to Alaska becomes available next year. Daily flights between Dallas (DFW) and Fairbanks (FAI) start May 7, 2020, and operate through early October, as do daily flights between Chicago (ORD) and both Fairbanks and Anchorage (ANC).
American Airlines is also upgrading the aircraft it uses to service flights between Kalispell and Dallas and Chicago; previously, travelers flew on an Embraer E175 aircraft with 76 seats. Next year, they enjoy a Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 160 seats.
“National parks are a huge attraction for many families,” said Vasu Raja, vice president of network and schedule planning, American Airlines. “As soon as school’s out next year, our customers will have more than 145 weekly flights to and from Montana to choose from. This summer, we launched three new flights to Glacier National Park in Kalispell, and, next summer, we’re expanding with more service to discover the natural wonders.”
