In early June, American Airlines launched a regular, non-stop Miami (MIA)–Córdoba (OBD) service. The new service will operate four-times weekly with Boeing 767-300 aircraft.

The service will accommodate 204 passengers per flight and offer more than 42,000 seats each year. Although American Airlines has flown to Argentina since 1990, this is the first time the airline is operating out of an airport other than Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires.

“A little more than a decade ago, Córdoba had only a few flights and today it has become a key operational center for air connectivity. From the National Government, there is a strong commitment for the development of tourism activity with a deep national focus,” said Gustavo Santos, secretary of tourism, Argentina.

This expansion by American Airlines is the most recent example of the airline’s trust in the connections between Argentina and the United States. The last expansion debuted last winter, with a Los Angeles (LAX)–Buenos Aires service.

Córdoba is located to the northwest of Buenos Aires and is responsible for much of the nation’s economic and social growth. Córdoba is packed with activities and sights to see, including mountains, crystal-clear rivers and rich history.
