This summer and fall, Santa Monica welcomes a wave of hotel revitalizations, new restaurants and many new cultural offerings. Whether shopping for the latest technology at the new Google Store on Third Street Promenade, enjoying a brunch experience at Regent Santa Monica Beach’s Orla restaurant, picking out fresh fruit and berries at an outdoor farmers market, or checking all new art exhibitions at Bergamot Station, the joys of late summer and fall return to Santa Monica.

A landmark of luxury along the Pacific coast, Shutters on the Beach unveiled a thoughtfully redesigned lobby in collaboration with acclaimed design firm Nickey Kehoe. Affectionately dubbed The Living Room, the new lobby seamlessly blends the hotel’s historic Cape Cod elegance with a light, airy atmosphere to match the fresh Pacific breezes that drift through it. The result is a sense of timeless, laid-back coastal luxury one can only find in Santa Monica.

Santa Monica Proper Hotel presents its newly created Wellness Grand King rooms, equipping guests with top workout equipment and accessories including a Peloton bike, Theragun and more for an elevated private fitness experience. For those in search of relaxing wellness opportunities, the property also leaned into the sleep tourism trend with an exclusive in-room Lullaby Sound Bath.

Brunch service at Orla at Regent Hotel Santa Monica Beach from celebrity Chef Michael Mina invites guests to an indulgent brunch experience featuring family-style appetizers, bold takes on brunch dishes and decadent desserts. Designed for leisurely conversations and relaxation, Orla invites guests to enjoy the fresh ocean breeze over a luxurious weekend brunch.

Din Tai Fung is now open at Santa Monica Place, offering diners an authentic culinary experience first originated in Taiwan in 1958. Coupled with ocean views from the patio and a distinctly Santa Monica beach aesthetic, the new restaurant promises a world-class combination of food, service and atmosphere.

Just a few months after its debut, Seline was announced as one of 15 restaurants in California added to the 2025 Michelin Guide. A new concept by acclaimed Chef Dave Beran, Seline encourages a relationship between diners and the kitchen by removing barriers and implementing a service style to facilitate conversation. The restaurant’s 15- to 18-course menu presents flavors inspired by Southern California through a memorable dining experience.

Renowned Fogo de Chão Brazilian restaurant chain expands into Santa Monica with a new seaside location open on Ocean Avenue. In addition to premium churrasco meats they are known for, Fogo De Chão serves classic Brazilian side dishes, desserts and festive cocktails complete with tableside service for an immersive dining experience.

Celebrated Chef Zach Pollack at Cosetta brings California Italian cuisine to the charming Ocean Park neighborhood, serving small plates, house-baked bread, salads made with seasonal ingredients and signature puffy-crusted pizzas. Diners can enjoy a meal on the expansive alfresco patio or take things indoors for a refreshing cocktail or zero-proof beverage in the chic dining room.

Santa Monica’s multiple farmers’ markets always overflow with colorful produce from California’s rich agricultural land, making a visit to the markets a feast for the senses. Strolling the open-air stalls is an essential part of the Southern California lifestyle, which in Santa Monica means bagging your berries alongside A-list celebrities and well-known chefs from top Santa Monica restaurants.

Late summer and fall art exhibitions, live events, and dining venues are available at Bergamot Station Arts Center. Not new to Santa Monica, it is the largest art gallery and cultural complex of its kind on the West Coast, with more than 100 years of history as an active railroad station and factory before being repurposed as a creative campus. Bergamot Station contains more than 25 individual galleries and creative venues highlighting rising artists, new abstract pieces, photography, architectural design and more. The Center also hosts the largest artist residency program in Southern California, providing artists space to create and share the impactful results with the public through exhibition and community engagement programs.

The Third Street Promenade lineup of top retail offerings continues to expand with the new Google Store Santa Monica, one of only six brick-and-mortar Google stores in the world, and the first in Southern California. The new outpost offers a hands-on shopping experience with the latest Google hardware and technology, from smartphones and smart home devices to accessories and more. The Google Store provides a space for customers to explore, test and purchase Google products while receiving expert advice from knowledgeable staff.

The A.I.-powered gym concept Fred Fitness debuted its first-ever location in the Downtown neighborhood. The 11,500-square-foot space revolutionizes health and fitness training by utilizing the latest technology to deliver personalized workout plans based on each individual’s goals, conditions and abilities. Fred Fitness welcomes gym-goers with a free assessment to measure body composition, metabolic baseline and overall fitness capabilities to kick off the innovative workout experience

Welcome fall with free wellness programming at Santa Monica Pier. Every Saturday through Oct. 11, enjoy the ocean breeze with a group run followed by a yoga and Pilates class on the world-famous pier for a fresh way to experience the beloved landmark.
