While the weather warms, some towns across the United States slowly open beaches to attract more tourists and generate revenue. One such place reopening beaches is Los Angeles County.

As of May 13, L.A. County beaches are open, but with rules. If you are looking to spend the day sunbathing and relaxing on the beach, you’re going to have to wait. Visitors are not allowed to sit on the sand, have picnics, bring coolers or canopies, or congregate with friends. All beach volleyball courts are closed, along with surrounding bike trails. Parking lots, boardwalks and other trails are still closed until further notice.

Visitors can exercise on the beach — running and walking is fine, just make sure to keep six feet apart from other people. Visitors wanting to take a stroll along the water with their family are allowed, but while engaging in physical activities on the beach, you must wear a face mask.

Beachgoers are also allowed to take a dip in the water, swim and surf.

Although the beaches are open for exercise, social distancing still applies. Guests hope following rules and social distancing now will help lift some restrictions in the near future.
