United Airlines partners with CLEAR to provide United MileagePlus members with free or discounted memberships to the secure identity company that uses biometrics to protect your flight experience. CLEAR currently operates at United hubs in Denver (DEN), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO) and Washington, D.C. (IAD). Further CLEAR service is planned for Newark (EWR), Houston (IAH) and Chicago (ORD).

CLEAR security lanes at airports, arenas, stadiums and more scan fingerprints or irises to allow travelers to more quickly navigate security.

Global Services and Premier 1K MileagePlus members received free CLEAR membership as of last week. Premier Platinum, Gold and Silver members receive a discounted membership rate of $109. All other MileagePlus members receive a discounted rate of $119. CLEAR memberships generally start at $179 per year.
