At the end of Tribute Portfolio’s first year, the brand now includes worldwide 20 properties, which is double what was originally projected. Starwood’s relatively new collection of independent hotels recently signed three other properties, including its first in Shanghai and two in Florida, including a 323-room hotel in Tampa and The Modern in Sarasota.

“The independent hotel segment has continued to grow exponentially, with consumers increasingly desiring travel to hotels and resorts that don’t fall under a cookie cutter brand. The Tribute Portfolio’s first property, when it debuted in April 2015, was the Royal Palm South Beach Miami. Other properties include the Great Northern Hotel; The Kiroro Resort; The Hermitage; the SLS Las Vegas; The Riviera Palm Springs; Avenue of the Arts; Le Dokhan’s; and Le Metropolitan. Upcoming properties will debut in Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Sarasota, Asheville, Nashville, Savannah, Charleston, Denver, Shanghai and Quebec City.
