Indianapolis Trip
Being a huge fan of The Golden Girls, when I heard my favorite podcaster, Patrick Hinds, was stopping in Indianapolis on his tour to share his hilarious encounter with Bea Arthur and a meet-and-greet, I booked my trip without checking my calendar to make sure I was free. If you asked me five years ago if I would travel to another state to see a podcaster, I would’ve laughed in your face, but it turned out to be a very pleasant weekend with my husband, Tony.

Vedge Philadelphia
If you know anything about me by this point, you know that as a Philadelphia resident, I am more than enthralled with the food and restaurant scene here in the City of Brotherly Love. Of course, I have my favorites — A Kitchen, Ambrosia, Harp & Crown and Saloon — but I am always adding to my must-try list, and last weekend I was able to check one of those off. Spoiler alert: It was spectacular and definitely blog-worthy.
Kick Back in Kingston
The allure of the Hudson Valley has attracted city folk and visitors from further afield to its verdant landscape for centuries. Summertime is an especially popular time, as eager tourists flock to the mountain and valley towns to escape the doldrums of the working class. While many towns in the region have experienced a renaissance, the standout in the last few years has got to be Kingston. With Poughkeepsie to the south, Saugerties to the north and Woodstock to the west, it’s at the epicenter of a Hudson Valley revival.

Cock-a-Doodle-Doo!
My husband and I have had a busy spring, but earlier this week we realized it had been quite a while since we'd treated ourselves to a nice dinner out. I recalled a restaurant review I'd read in our local paper about a month ago for a small French restaurant in nearby Ashland, and we agreed to give it a try. Husband-and-wife team Nat and Grace Borsi (he's the chef, and she runs the front of the house) opened it almost two years ago, wanting to create a friendly, casual place with a neighborhood bistro vibe. They wanted the name to be a little French but not too fancy or high-end sounding. They hit upon Cocorico, the French "cock-a-doodle-doo," and I can assure you, everything about this place gave me something to crow about!
