Steam & Rye is London’s newest evening hotspot. Developed by London entrepreneur Nick House (co-founder of Mahiki, Whisky Mist and Bodo Schloss) and British model Kelly Brook, the venue takes inspiration from the United States of the 1920s with a decadent bar and restaurant offering live music and dancing.
Open 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Saturday, Steam & Rye is described as “Great Gatsby meets the Wild West.” The venue is located in the former Bank of New York, London building in the City of London.
“It was love at first sight when I set eyes upon the old Bank of New York on Leadenhall Street and immediately the concept sprung to life in my head,” said House. “In a few seconds, an amalgamation of movies ranging from Hugo to Gangs of New York started to take form and I knew then that I had to make Steam & Rye a reality.
“My journey started almost a year ago as I began to source set designers, alternative thinkers, illustrators, chefs and mixologists who could help shape my vision into something special and incomparable.”
