Sofitel New York recently unveiled its highly anticipated transformation that drew inspiration from the shared Art Deco heritage of New York City and Paris.

Dieter Schmitz, general manager, Sofitel New York, said, The transformation of Sofitel New York is a celebration of New York’s boundless energy and the timeless elegance of our French heritage. From our reimagined Penthouse and world-class suites to the debut of our vibrant new bar and bistro, Social 45, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to create an experience as dynamic and unforgettable as the city itself. Together as a team, we take great pride in pairing this remarkable physical transformation with a warm, genuine and refreshingly personal style of hospitality that ensures every guest leaves with memories to last a lifetime.”

Guests enter the grand foyer on 44th Street. Here, design details include open metal screens. A coffered ceiling with integrated lighting, marble flooring, deep green walls and white paneling.

The lobby also offers a serene setting for the nightly Candle Ritualan evening ceremony held at Sofitels worldwide.

Design firm HBA San Francisco created a consistent aesthetic across the hotel’s public spaces, guestrooms and suites. All of Sofitel New York’s 346 guestrooms and 52 suites have been fully redesigned and feature French-inspired wall paneling and new custom furnishings, textiles and lighting. The bed serves as a focal point with its upholstered panel framed by striped wood backing and sculptural brass pendant lamps. All guestrooms and suites offer Sofitel BED, the brand’s signature sleep experience, featuring an exclusive mattress, box spring, topper, duvet and selection of pillows. Upper-floor guestrooms include floor-to-ceiling windows framing views of Manhattan. Spacious marble bathrooms boast rain showers and bath amenities by Balmain and Diptyque.

An addition is the new Suite Collection, with seven boldly designed suites offering spaces of a scale rarely seen in Manhattan, including the 28th-floor Penthouse, spanning 1,205 square feet.

Additional Suite Collection accommodations include two premier 24th-floor suites, Grand Terrace Chrysler View Suite and Panoramic Terrace Suite.

Social 45, Bar & Bistro serves day into late-night dining. The menu pairs French classics with New York-inspired creations. Guests can enjoy afternoon and evening Social Hours here, with future additions to include an outdoor café. Mornings at Social 45 include La Haute Croissanterie, Sofitel’s pastry program.

Sofitel New York’s reimagined meeting and event spaces include the elegant Paris Ballroom and seven other meeting rooms. A dedicated planning team ensures seamless execution.

With enforced building codes dictated by the original Najdi villages of the region, it also serves as a more relaxed alternative to Riyadh’s futuristic downtown core.
