Passengers on Singapore Airlines will experience enhanced in-flight entertainment through the airline’s new companion app. The app will allow passengers to review available content, create a favorites list and control the seatback system, all from their mobile device. The app is currently available for iOS and Android tablets, and will become available for iOS and Android phones later this year.

To use the app, passengers can download it to their device before boarding, then link to the onboard WiFi system. From there, items in the favorites list can be played on the seatback system, using a mobile device as a remote. Passengers can also access flight information without interrupting their entertainment. Currently, these features are available on the Airbus A350 fleet, with expansion planned for the Boeing 777-300ERs.

“With the proliferation of personal mobile devices and the arrival of our new Airbus A350 fleet, this latest innovation will help enhance the in-flight entertainment experience for our customers.
