Seabourn recently announced it will cancel upcoming voyages for three ships as part of its pause in global ship operations. The announcement specifically applies to Seabourn Encore, Seabourn Ovation and Seabourn Sojourn. For the Encore, operations are paused through Nov. 25; for Ovation, through Dec. 20. The Seabourn Sojourn is paused through its World Cruise 2021, effective through May 24, 2021.
While the cruise line previously paused operations March 14–Nov. 20, the decision to cancel these additional voyages is a proactive response to the continuing circumstances of COVID-19. Seabourn will communicate directly with guests on the affected voyages.
“We’ve been saying for some time that our resumption of service will come gradually, and this action reflects that discussion. The health, safety and well-being of our guests, crew and the people in the destinations we visit remain a top priority,” said Josh Leibowitz, president, Seabourn. “Like many who watch the travel industry, we are encouraged by the signs emerging around the world that point to travel’s progress toward return. When our expert science and medical advisors and our destinations support the ability to resume travel on Seabourn, we’ll be ready.”
Guests currently confirmed on the 2021 World Cruise will be automatically re-accommodated in the same suite for the 2022 World Cruise, at rate paid, within 30 days. Guests on the other impacted cruises will be automatically canceled and receive Bonus Future Cruise Credits. If they were paid in full, they will receive 125 percent Future Cruise Credit; if they were under deposit, the credit will be valued at 125 percent of the deposit amount paid. A full refund can be requested
Did you have planned cruises canceled as a result of the pandemic? Would you rather a future credit at more value or a refund? When do you plan to return to cruising? Tell us about it. Email us at letters@globaltravelerusa.com. Please include your full name and location.
