ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: I arrived in Orlando to attend Florida’s Governor’s Conference on Tourism right after the Labor Day weekend. The conference is an excellent event full of destination tourism marketers sharing the latest trends regarding tourism for the state. I drove to the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort just in time to check in before enjoying the opening night conference session. Though I was in a bit of a hurry, the valet graciously held my car while the team inside checked me in and offered me a Park View Suite on the sixth floor.
GUEST QUARTERS: In perhaps the largest suite I’ve enjoyed all year, I found myself marveling at the extensive space and elevated design. A guest bathroom with a sink and full shower greeted me as I opened the door, but upon turning into the room I found myself in a generous living area. A full sofa, chair and coffee table made the room feel more like an apartment. The separate glass table with chairs near the mini bar, refrigerator and Nespresso machine featured a charcuterie tray of meats, cheeses and desserts; the perfect snack for someone who was running a bit behind! I also noticed a wine dispenser offering Emblem Cabernet Sauvignon and Mohua Sauvignon Blanc.
The bedroom matched the space of the expansive living area, with a king-sized bed, two armchairs with lamps, and end tables flanking the bed. Dual flat-screen TVs backed each other on the same wall between the living room and bedroom. A walk-through closet with his and hers spaces led me into the second bathroom with dual sinks, a full bathtub, water closet and glass shower. Plush rugs and towels alongside Atelier Cologne bath and shower products amplified the luxurious feel of the room.
Finally, an impressive balcony running the length of my suite housed a table with four chairs on one end along with two separate lounge chairs on the other. My balcony also faced Disney World, allowing me to see the incredible resort grounds and the fireworks from the theme park at night.
SERVICES/AMENITIES: Though I wasn’t able to enjoy any of the six different dining options on site, the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort’s award-winning culinary team coaxes me towards returning to taste their more popular menu items. Further, The Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club Orlando and The Spa practically require me to reconsider a full-length stay for leisure instead of business.
Finally, the entire family is welcome at the resort, boasting a five-acre water park with numerous pools, a long and winding lazy river, water slide and more. You can also request pre-arranged breakfast opportunities with Goofy and various Disney characters, along with enjoying other family-friendly events throughout the year.
TOP TAKEAWAYS:
- For those looking for extra space, choosing a suite with a balcony is well worth the upgrade.
- Families and spouses can easily enjoy this bleisure resort while mom or dad participates in conferences or events.
- Tucked away within the Golden Oak community, the resort is minutes from four major theme parks, with complimentary transportation available.
