Obsidian Wine Co. brought wine tasting to a new level with the launch of an Outdoor Adventure series. This series takes wine out of the tasting room and into nature with a fun and educational new series.
Throughout the year keep an eye out for new adventure tastings in California.
Hog Island Oyster Company and Obsidian Wine Co., teamed up to bring an inside look at their shared work together. Through the collaboration, visitors can understand shellfish and wine in their ecological context, where sea and land collide. Dive further into a specific place, how it relates to a food source and learn the culture behind each craft. Explore the boundaries where nature and humans intersect, and how to make those places more sustainable for each.
Lace up your hiking shoes and bring a thirst for adventure while exploring the volcanic land surrounding Obsidian Ridge in the Red Hills County region in California. A professional geologist takes guests through the largest flow of obsidian most will ever witness.
Spend the day sailing the San Francisco Bay where you will encounter plenty of sea life and learn the importance of clean water and the vitality of wine-growing. Beginning in Sausalito, the 80-foot schooner will take you around the bay as you sip its Rose for the Bay.
Although these are just a couple examples of the Outdoor Adventure series, there are plenty of other options available. For more information and to find out about the other adventures, visit Obsidian Wine Co.’s website.

The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.

I am looking out at Vietnam’s largest city from the country’s tallest building. Sitting in a comfortable chair facing the floor-to-ceiling window, I have taken in the view in daylight and darkness at dusk and dawn. It’s ever-changing and always hypnotic.
