Despite the challenges of operating a business during the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses in Haddonfield, New Jersey, flourished in 2020.
“Throughout 2020, we have welcomed new businesses and expansions of current businesses in our downtown. Even with the challenges of the year, we are proud to see new businesses choose downtown Haddonfield as their home and some of our existing tenants announce the expansion of their spaces,” said Susan Hodges, board chair, Partnership for Haddonfield.
Men’s and women’s clothing boutique nineNORTH opened in November 2020. The shop offers men’s and women’s clothing, accessories and home goods. Curbside pickup is available. A Little Whimsy, a baby, children’s and gift boutique, opened in October 2020 on Haddonfield’s main street. Groovy Smoovies, a classic movie-themed smoothie shop, also debuted in 2020.
Independent bookseller Inkwood Books expanded to a new, larger location in 2020. The store began offering online orders with curbside pickup or delivery during the pandemic. Home décor, plant and gift shop Meraki Market expanded into a new, larger space in 2020. Valente’s Cucina opened as an Italian market before transforming into a BYOB restaurant in 2020. William Heritage Winery’s tasting room is currently undergoing renovations for its anticipated expansion later this summer.
Some businesses pivoted during the pandemic. The Paper Trail, a stationary and gift store, expanded its balloon selection, offering shoppers extraordinary custom balloon designs for their homes or special events.
