Moxy Hotels Brings Five New Properties To Europe

Daily

Marriott International will be opening five new Moxy Hotels in Europe over the coming year. New properties are planned for Munich, Eschborn and Berlin, Germany; Oslo, Norway; and Aberdeen, United Kingdom. This is in addition to the two planned 2016 U.S. openings in Tempe, Ariz., and New Orleans. Marriott International’s ultimate goal is to have 150 Moxy Hotels open within the next decade.

“This is an exciting and pivotal moment for the Moxy brand as we move into the second phase of development with five new hotel openings this year and nine more expected in 2017. In 2014, Moxy Milan hit the market with a bang, as the first budget-savvy hotel brand to shake up the industry with a fun, stylish and unexpected hospitality experience. We are so pleased to be able to offer this game-changing experience to more travelers in more major cities. This is just the beginning of a sensational journey for Moxy in Europe,” said Amy McPherson, president and managing director, Marriott International, Europe.

Moxy Munich Airport will open this month, with 252 guestrooms. Moxy Eschborn, with 176 guestrooms, will open July. Moxy Berlin Ostbahnhof will be located in Berlin’s city center and contain 210 guestrooms, opening October. Moxy Oslo Exporama, with 276 guestrooms, will open November, located at the Exporama Exhibition and Conference Centre. Moxy Aberdeen Airport will contain 200 guestrooms and open in December.

High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture

It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.
