Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts ended a successful 2015, growing its portfolio by 15 per cent over the year. The brand is planning for another 26 properties, with its eye on Asia Pacific.
In 2015, Mövenpick opened two Southeast Asian properties in Thailand. It also signed five properties in the region and will soon add 2,000 guestrooms to Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines. One of the new properties in Vietnam is the first integrated destination resort on Phú Quốc and is slated to open in 2017. The other, Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh Bay, will open the same year.
“We are ramping up our cluster strategy for Southeast Asia’s leading markets,” said Andrew Langdon, senior vice president, Asia, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.
In addition, Mövenpick secured three new properties in the Middle East, as well as three in Africa.
