EDITION, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio, makes its way to Dali with The Dali EDITION, bringing a refined, contemporary perspective to Southwest China.
The hotel mimics a modern neighborhood and quietly integrates itself into the natural setting. Interior spaces feel intentional and tactile, featuring materials drawn from the region, such as aged timber, bluestone and Erhai Lake pebbles. Views throughout the hotel inspire the palette, using Dali’s natural elements as a guiding canvas. Glazed features and open layouts create a sense of fluidity and help balance Eastern craftsmanship with redefined sensibility.
The design flows into guestrooms, where scale, proportion and natural light create a sense of calm and belonging. The hotel’s 151 rooms and suites include a collection of private villas with swimming pools, and are centered around views of Erhai Lake or Cangshan Mountain. Room interiors are layered in tactile materials and soft lighting while bathrooms are finished with white stone with subtle level changes and soaking tubs.
Culinary experiences at The Dali EDITION are guided by seasonal and local ingredients sourced from the hotel’s vegetable garden and fruit orchard. Dining venues include Market at EDITION, offering an all-day, farm-to-table experience with open kitchens; KUSHO, a venue centered around wood-fired cooking that draws the intensity of local hardwood charcoal to create a one-of-a-kind menu; Lobby Bar sets the hotel’s social rhythm by transitioning from daytime tea service to evening cocktails; and a Chinese restaurant where elements of Bai architecture combine with local dishes to create a dining environment reflecting the local landscape.
Located along the slopes of Cangshan Mountain, The Dali EDITION overlooks Erhai Lake, a region shaped by centuries of trade routes and cultural exchanges that connected Southwest China to nearby regions. The hotel allows travelers to easily access iconic landmarks like Cangshan Mountain Scenic Area, Three Pagodas and Dali Old Town. It also is close to Dali Railway Station and Dali Fengyi Airport, making it the perfect homebase for travelers looking to explore the area.

If you haven’t been to wine country during harvest season, have you really been to wine country? Vineyards buzz with workers plucking sun-ripened clusters while the winery hums with sorting tables and presses gently extracting precious juice and tannins.
