Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina launched a new expansion project that will create the largest event space on the West Coast.

Located close to the San Diego Convention Center, Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina already boasts ample meeting and event space, including 47 meeting rooms with 80,000 square feet of total event space. The downtown hotel plans to offer business and event travelers even more options by expanding to approximately 240,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event venues next year.

Scheduled for completion in summer 2016, new unique meeting amenities will include two stacked 36,000-square-foot ballrooms overlooking the San Diego Bay in place of the current ballrooms, each able to accommodate up to 4,500 guests, and the Marina Terrace, offering 26,450 square feet of paved space overlooking the marina.

The luxury San Diego hotel’s newest feature is the Marina Walk, connecting downtown and the San Diego Bay. The landscaped walkway will offer views of the marina, parks and the waterfront as well as bike racks, benches, public art and decorative paving.
