Late last month, the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina revealed its completed expansion project to the two-tower hotel that graces the marina. The expansion added more meeting spaces, a larger foyer and 85,000 square feet of additional outdoor space, including upgrades to the Marina Walk that connects the property and the bay with downtown San Diego. At more than 27,000 square feet, the newly constructed marina terrace will host special events like weddings and private parties. Inside the hotel property, reconstructed ballrooms can be configured into two separate spaces, each with a capacity of 3,700 guests, or they can be divided even further into 12 separate ballrooms. The luxurious yet functional ballrooms feature the latest audiovisual technology and a mural of the San Diego coastline outfitted with Swarovski crystals. With more than 1,300 guest ooms, this Marriott property has continually served as a popular venue for business travelers due to its proximity to the San Diego Convention Center and its easy access to the thriving city.
