ENJOY STELLAR SERVICE WITH the new American Airlines Five Star™ Service options and its recently announced luxury experiences. Five Star™ Service allows for a personal, customized airport experience for departures, connections or arrivals made to enhance the travel journey.
For travelers in any of American Airlines premium cabins, Five Star™ Service is available, offering access to Flagship® First Check-In and the Admirals Club lounge (at the purchased airport on departure); a personal escort through all airports; priority boarding and re-accommodation status; and car service coordination. Starting at $350 per segment for the first passenger, the service is available at more than 12 U.S. and four international airports.
If passengers have a ticket in any of the premium cabins that don’t qualify for the Flagship® experience, they can upgrade to new Five Star™ Select service with access to the Flagship® First check-in and lounges; a Cadillac or car transfer; a personal escort through all airports; priority boarding and reaccommodation status; and cart service coordination (where applicable). This service is available at five U.S. airports for $650 for the first traveler.
New program offerings benefit New York City and Los Angeles travelers. The Big Apple can be notorious for traffic, and now Five Star™ Service allows JFK-bound travelers to skip the streets and instead book private helicopter transfers with BLADE. Customers are picked up at a destination of their choice in either city, and are flown to airport, where they are met by an American Airlines team member and escorted via Cadillac to Flagship® First Check-In. After clearing security, premium travelers can spend the remaining pre-flight time in the Admirals Club.
BLADE service can be booked through the BLADE app, and it also applies to arriving customers. A private charter for up to six people can be arranged. Additionally, prior to take-off, BLADE offers a private lounge for waiting. Upon arrival, enjoy an escort to customs and baggage claim, or, if a traveler has only carry-on luggage, there will be an American Airlines greeter at the gate.
LAX travelers valuing efficiency, luxury and privacy will want to book Five Star™ Private Arrival and Five Star™ Private Departure services. With its own private entrance at the airport, The Private Suite is an exclusive, first-of-its-kind terminal offering departing travelers private, expedited security screenings, Cadillac escort across the tarmac and directly to the gate and Flagship® Lounge and Flagship® First dining.
Arriving passengers clear customs in The Private Suite’s dedicated international arrivals hall in less than five minutes. Passengers flying internationally who book Five Star™ Private Arrival will receive a Cadillac transfer to The Private Suite, where they’ll enjoy a private customs experience. For domestic arrivals, there’s complimentary VIP Baggage Delivery to your final destination.
Five Star™ Private Arrival and Five Star™ Private Departure are available at LAX for passengers booked in a premium cabin. Both start at $1,200 for two people in the same party.

Apr 18, 2025Wellness Comes Naturally in Greenville, South Carolina
Strolling through downtown Greenville, South Carolina, it’s easy to see why the city ranks high among the best places to live in the United States: Shops, restaurants and coffee bars line the streets; there are also performance venues, hotels and outdoor plazas. But what really sets this upstate city of just more than 78,000 residents apart are the easily accessible parks and walking trails encouraging both residents and visitors to explore the city by foot or cycle (both handcycles and adaptive bikes are available to rent). Even better, as Greenville continues to grow, city planners and major employers work together to expand these opportunities. When Greenville’s Swamp Rabbit Trail, for instance, opened in 2009, the paved, multiuse pathway ran about 9 miles from the heart of Greenville to the town of Traveler’s Rest.

Apr 16, 2025Grand Hotel Des Bains Kempinski St. Moritz Review
Switzerland’s most storied ski town (the one, in fact, credited with pioneering the very concept of Alpine tourism), St. Moritz legendarily attracts the rich, the famous, celebutantes and the wannabes. Yet, there’s something compellingly earthy about the place, a town on a lake rich with natural environs, where winter sports and summer activities draw athletes and mountain lovers aplenty. As at the mountain restaurants (where some arrive by chairlift rather than muscle movement, and all types of diners and imbibers convene), Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski St. Moritz straddles the old and new, the lavish and the understated. The hotel, one of St. Moritz’s oldest, opened as a spa haven in 1864, set atop a healing mineral spring.
