JetBlue announced a new transcontinental route, with service between New York (JFK) and Ontario, California (ONT). It is JetBlue’s 10th California destination. Ontario International Airport serves 6 million passengers in the region and is one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the state.
“The Golden State has been an important part of the JetBlue story since our earliest days of flying and that’s still the case today as we continue to grow in Southern California,” said Rob Land, senior vice president government affairs and associate general counsel, JetBlue. “Ontario service brings our award-winning JetBlue experience and great fares to one of the fastest growing regions of the country where travelers are eager to take to the skies with us.”
“This is a great day for our airport and region as we welcome back JetBlue and its nonstop service to New York,” added Alan D. Wapner, president, Ontario International Airport Authority. “Their return has been highly anticipated by business and leisure travelers and shows that Ontario is the place to be in Southern California aviation, with our first-rate facilities, hassle-free experience and extraordinary customer base.
The service expansion is part of larger network enhancements designed to meet coast-to-coast demand. Currently, JetBlue serves more cities in California with non-stop service to New York than any other airline. Transcontinental flights account for 15 percent of all JetBlue flights.
Airbus A320 aircraft serve all Ontario flights, with JetBlue’s trademark complimentary snacks and entertainment.

Half a century ago, several architecturally significant buildings not only changed the face of Chicago but also reintroduced the city as a world-class travel destination. Roughly a year after the Sears Tower (now Willis Tower) emerged as the then world’s tallest building, Hyatt Regency Chicago opened its doors in August 1974. A second tower was constructed in 1980, making it one of the most ambitious hotels the city had seen, down to its above-ground skyway and underground concourse.
