Hilton And All Nippon Airways Offer New Culinary Options

Mar 6, 2016
Daily

Hilton is teaming with All Nippon Airways to offer passengers between Tokyo and the United States in-flight dining options from executive chefs at Conrad Tokyo and Conrad New York. In addition, the new menu items will be featured at ANA Suite Lounges in Haneda (HND) and Narita (NRT). The collaboration celebrates ANA’s 25th anniversary of direct flights from Tokyo to New York (JFK).

Until May 31, a new menu will be available to business-class passengers flying from Narita to any U.S. destination, barring red eye and Honolulu (HNL) flights. The menu was created by Antonio Cardosos, executive chef, Atrio, Conrad New York, and includes items such as Moroccan-rubbed swordfish, red wine-braised short rib, chocolate panacotta and ricotta cheesecake. The menu will be updated seasonally.

Available June 1–Aug. 31, business-class passengers flying ANA from New York to Narita will be treated to a different menu from Chef Cardoso, with options like roasted branzino filet, rosemary-and-herb-encrusted beef tenderloin, yuzu panacotta and dark chocolate mousse cake. These flights will also feature a specialty cocktail from Chef Cardoso.

Chef Albert Tse, executive chef, China Blue, Conrad Tokyo, will create the dining experiences for first class and ANA Diamond Service passengers at the ANA Suite Lounges at both Haneda and Narita Airports. The menu will be Chinese inspired and will change seasonally, available until Nov. 30.

“Marking the 25th anniversary of our Tokyo–New York route with this very special food and beverage collaboration is a great way to honor the legacy of ANA while demonstrating our continued commitment to providing unparalleled inflight experiences. We are honored to count Conrad Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Worldwide among the cadre of innovative brands we have partnered with to bring greater service to our customers,” said Hideki Kunugi, senior vice president, ANA, The Americas.

In addition, ANA international passengers will have access to a documentary on New York City through Nov. 30. Conrad New York also created a jazz playlist as an in-flight entertainment option to enjoy alongside the dining experience.

High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture

It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.

Why Japan Is Best Explored by Sea with Princess

Japan is a destination that rewards repeat visits because no two regions — or seasons —  feel quite the same. One moment, you’re wandering through centuries-old geisha districts in Kanazawa. The next, you’re watching neon reflections dance across Tokyo streets long after midnight.
