In conjunction with Hainan Airlines’ first North American Boeing 787-9 flight, the airline announced a new collaboration with DreamWorks. Hainan Airlines will soon feature the Kung Fu Panda film franchise on its entire fleet. Hainan’s newest Boeing Dreamliners in the coming year will boast Kung Fu Panda-themed livery in six different designs including the most popular characters and scenes from the movies. The livery is scheduled to remain for a three-year period. “The ‘Kung Fu Panda’ story is deeply rooted in Chinese history, culture and society. We are excited to partner with an iconic American movie studio and strengthen the bridge connecting China and North America,” said Hou Wei, vice president of marketing, Hainan Airlines. “Stay tuned for an exciting opportunity for fans of ‘Kung Fu Panda,’ Hainan and Boeing to be a part of this landmark collaboration. We will make an announcement soon about how you can create an original piece of aviation history.” Hainan Airlines is China’s largest independent airline and the only to receive a perfect Skytrax rating for five consecutive years. It is the only airline in China to operate both the 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliners.
