Oneworld launched a new platform for linking to the world’s premier airline alliance, enabling customers to enjoy added services and benefits across a global network. The first airline to join in the new capacity as a oneworld connect partner is Fiji Airways.
Oneworld connect is a new membership platform, with other airlines in discussion to join, including carriers in the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe. Partners need to have a minimum of three oneworld members as sponsors; all four of oneworld’s original founding members sponsored Fiji Airways.
Oneworld connect partners provide select alliance benefits to frequent flyers from any oneworld member airline traveling on their flights. Additional benefits include through check-in of passengers and baggage; the ability to earn and redeem frequent-flyer awards; and access to select lounges at key airports for first- or business-class passengers or those with eligible top-tier frequent-flyer status.
