To provide a luxury travel experience to its passengers flying out of Rome, Emirates opened a new lounge at Leonardo da Vinci Airport. Located in Terminal 3 in the airside transit area close to passport control, the new Emirates Lounge in Rome features seating for 156 customers and offers an extensive buffet of gourmet dishes from Italy and around the world, complimentary full bar, reading areas, shower facilities, a prayer room and a fully-equipped business center with WiFi. Lounge access is provided to first- and business-class customers as well as Platinum and Gold members of Emirates Skywards, the airline’s frequent-flyer loyalty program. “Our history in Italy started in Rome when we first established our presence in 1992, and it is the only city in Italy where we fly our iconic A380 aircraft. We have seen passenger numbers grow steadily in the last five years. The need for an Emirates lounge has never been greater,” said Mohammed H. Mattar, divisional senior vice president of airport services, Emirates. The carrier currently operates 42 weekly flights to Italy, including two daily flights to Rome, three to Milan (MXP) and one to Venice (VCE).
