Emirates will grow its Airbus A380 route network in December with new non-stop service between Dubai International Airport and Milan before the opening of Milan Expo 2015. The carrier will upgrade one of its three daily Boeing 777-300 services to an A380 from Dec. 1, launching the first-ever permanently scheduled A380 service to Milan Malpensa Airport and growing the route capacity by approximately 38 percent. The Gulf carrier’s A380 aircraft features 76 lie-flat beds in business class and 14 private suites in first class, as well as two on-board shower spas.
“With Milan Expo 2015 closely approaching, over 20 million visitors are expected to visit the city and more than three million visitors will travel to Milan from international destinations, and we are well placed to cater to the upward demand within that period and beyond,” said Thierry Antinori, executive vice president, Emirates.
