Vertigo Sky Lounge continues its reign as Chicago’s only outdoor winter patio and ice bar when it opens Jan. 17. This season, the rooftop venue cranks it up a notch with Hot Tub Time Machine, a nod to vintage ski lodges of the past.
The 1,000-square-foot outdoor patio becomes the ultimate après-ski oasis where guests are invited to dress in their finest throwback ski apparel before taking the “lift” to the 26th-floor venue at the Dana Hotel & Spa. Once at the peak, guests belly up to a 14-foot custom-carved ice bar to dig into s’more stations, soups, spiked hot chocolates and signature hot toddies. Highlights created by mixologist Chris Nuestadt include Apple (rye whiskey, apple juice, lemon juice, simple syrup and angostura bitters), Honey (aged rum, honey, lemon, Benedictine, cinnamon and nutmeg) and Tea (vodka, tea syrup, hot tea and lemon).
