Thailand’s leading hotel operator, Centara, and KMA Hotels Group agreed to work toward bringing six new hotels to Myanmar.
The agreement includes a complete renovation of three KMA hotels and development of three brand-new hotels. KMA will update hotels in Inle, Naypyitaw and Taungoo, while Bagan and Then Daung will host new properties. Following the reopening and completion, all six properties will operate under Centara’s upscale and upper upscale brands.
The six hotels represent Centara’s first foray into Thailand.
“Our partnership with KMA Hotels represents a significant milestone for Centara,” said Thirayuth Chirathivat, CEO, Centara. “It gives us the opportunity to establish a significant presence for Centara in a country with huge potential for tourism development, and we are looking forward to contributing to Myanmar’s development while providing travellers with more options to enjoy our Thai-inspired, international standard of hospitality across a variety of destinations.”
Myanmar has one of the fastest-growing economies in Southeast Asia.
