British Airways recently revealed its brand-new first-class cabin design, reflecting modern British luxury travel. As part of the airline’s Airbus A380 retrofit plans, the new cabin will officially debut in mid-2026.

With seats curated by expert designers and world-class manufacturers across Ireland and Great Britain, first-class passengers can expect a new age of travel with British Airways. New first seats are ultra-wide (36.5 inches), with a bed length of 79 inches, complete with a multipurpose ottoman and elegant stowable table. Each seat also comes with a 32-inch 4-K TV screen and adjustable mood lighting with options like “relax,” “dine” and “cinema.” Seats are nestled within a 60-inch curved wall for both privacy and space.

First-class passengers traveling together in the middle of the first cabin can slide open the divider to create a shared lounge space, and stowable tables allow for custom “buddy dining.”

The new cabin will also boast ambient lighting with a design featuring references to the airline’s logo. Customers can use the new “Do not disturb” functionality at their seat to notify crew, and soft paneling inside the seat helps with acoustics to absorb sound. The cabin’s curves provide a natural flow to the space, allowing customers to easily wheel their luggage into their designated luggage space.
