It is an odd experience being forced to stay home in a major city like Philadelphia. The streets are nearly empty, and the constant white-noise sounds have all but disappeared. Working in the travel industry through all of this has been an eye-opening experience, and as the days pass, it becomes hard to separate yourself from the constant news and updates. It is never bad to stay updated, but oftentimes you need something to take your mind off the negativity, especially when so many of us work from home.

A couple of weeks ago, in an effort to stay active and get some air, I walked my dog to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and ran up the iconic Rocky steps. I go there all the time; but I decided to go this time because without going into the museum, all you’re doing is running up and down steps, so it is easy to avoid contact with others (this was before the stay-at-home order). There will typically be hundreds of people there at any given time, so, of course, it was odd to see such a beautiful space vacant — I suppose it was a nice bit of silver lining to see I didn’t have to wait in any lines for pictures.

Now that I’ve been relegated to my apartment, I’ve been trying to find ways to entertain myself outside of watching Netflix or HBO. Sports kept me busy over the years, so without them, my recent activities included jigsaw puzzles, home workouts and cooking. Any other suggestions are welcome!
