Every year I make sure to take at least one trip to the Philadelphia Christmas Village, and this past weekend I got to check it off of my to-do list for the holiday season. If you are unfamiliar with it, the Philadelphia Christmas Village is located at LOVE Park and features more than 80 vendors selling authentic European food, ornaments and arts & crafts from all over the world.
The vendors are all located in individual booths across the village, so it’s always cool to walk around each one and get in some late Christmas shopping. This year we made the task incredibly difficult by choosing to bring our semi-trained (we’re working on it) dog who had a bit of sensory overload between all of the people and food.
Directly across the street from the Christmas Village and at the foot of Philadelphia’s City Hall is Dillworth Park, which hosts a light show, cabin to get drinks in, a garden and ice skating every year for the holidays. The weather wasn’t exactly suited for much time outside, so a hot cider from the Dillworth Park cabin was much welcomed.
As always, it was time well-spent and great to see the city buzzing with so many people around the holidays. If you are in the area and want to check out Dillworth Park and/or the Christmas Village, more information can be found on Visit Philadelphia’s website.
