For frequent travelers, fitness can be a real challenge. Of course, in the perfect world, your hotel will have a nice fitness center and your work schedule will allow you to spend enough time to get a quality workout. Unfortunately, especially on business trips, things don’t always work out perfectly. Still, you don’t want to ignore exercise.
Last week I had the opportunity to meet up with Joey Thurman of Morph Personal Training. Joey and his business partner, Marcus Warren, operate out of a huge and well-equipped fitness center near the north side of Chicago.
I explained to Joey that I was looking for a short series of exercises that a busy, frequent traveler could perform within the confines of a hotel room. As a personal trainer, Joey is used to designing fitness programs catered to the needs and abilities of his clients. He was able to quickly suggest and demonstrate a handful of exercises that can be helpful when you are traveling.
The first video interview with Joey is simply a quick background on his business and his fitness philosophy. In the second video interview, Joey explains and demonstrates his suggestions for in-room exercising. As he states, each exercise can be modified to accommodate your personal exercise levels, going from basic to more intense. Even when you are not traveling, you can do these exercises in your home or at your fitness club, either by themselves or incorporated with your regular fitness routine.
Business trips are usually hectic, and often your fitness routine suffers, although it shouldn’t. I hope you check out Joey’s “Training Tips for Travelers” and find them as helpful as I did.
