This past weekend I attended a wedding at The Hotel Hershey in Hershey, Pa. Prior to the wedding festivities, family and friends of the bride indulged in treatments at The Chocolate Spa.

My treatments were in the afternoon, so I began my spa day with lunch at The Oasis, the lounge and restaurant exclusive to spa guests. The buffet-style spread featuring healthy options included spring mix salad, vegetarian and turkey wraps, sliced roast beef and turkey, orecchiette pasta salad, sweet potato salad and a selection of breads and light desserts. To accompany my meal I enjoyed the decadent Hershey Kisses Signature Chocolate Martini. Following lunch, I visited the quiet room while waiting for my first treatment.

My first appointment was a chocolate sugar scrub. My therapist used a blend of white, brown and raw sugar with essential oils. Within moments a subtle smell of chocolate filled the room. After rinsing me off, she applied a cocoa lotion. My skin felt lovely, and the sweet smell lingered for long after. My only complaint? The treatment went by too fast.

Between appointments I returned to the quiet room for a cup of hot chocolate and to browse a magazine. I then made my way to the salon for my “Sweet Feet” pedicure. Nestled in the seat with a warm neck pillow, I selected a polish color while the nail technician brought me a glass of water. The pedicure began with the same chocolate sugar scrub I had earlier, followed by a chocolate mask, paraffin dip and chocolate moisturizing massage. My toes looked bright in the deep pink color I chose. I made my way back to the locker room, rejuvenated and ready to start the wedding celebrations. My spa day in Hershey was over all too fast, but I’m already dreaming of my next visit to the sweetest place on earth.
