Suite Life at the Peninsula Chicago

by Megan Gragg

Last month I had the pleasure of visiting Chicago for the first time. After a wedding in Ohio, I flew out of Cincinnati into Chicago O’Hare fairly quickly, where I then found Francis Gallagher waiting for my arrival. We had a busy day of meetings ahead of us as well as the following day. We then made the executive decision that we should probably eat before our upcoming meeting. We decided to have grilled chicken sandwiches from Skybridge, which were delicious. Fran was shocked to say the least. Highly recommend if you are ever at O’ Hare looking for a quick bite.Chicago

After hailing a cab and making our way to The Peninsula Chicago, I was simply taking in the ambience and atmosphere of the city. It was a beautiful, perfect, sunny day in Chicago. Everyone was out and going about their day. All ages were out but mostly young people in business attire or athleisure wear. Chicago seems to attract the younger crowd as it is the perfect walkable city.

We soon arrived at The Peninsula, where I was just in awe of everything. The décor and the small touches in the lobby area were pristine and luxurious. The check-in team was extremely kind and welcoming ,which is always greatly appreciated. My room was all set and ready upon check in; I soon made my way up and saw the most lavish suite I have ever stayed in. A kind note was left welcoming me to The Peninsula along with a bowl of fruit and delicious chocolates. Both were enjoyed, so thoughtful of The Peninsula.Chicago

First thing was, of course, taking in the view. I had a beautiful view overlooking the city, which I greatly enjoyed. Next stop was the king-sized bed, which had the comfiest pillows! Then off to the mahogany wardrobe that had mood lighting that set the tone of upscale luxury. Then off to the bathroom, as it was to die for … it offered a huge bathtub and walk-in shower. Mirrors nearly lined all the wall space, which was perfect for getting ready the next morning. I have not even said the best part… which was that a TV was placed above the bathtub. I of course took advantage of this and found Suits on one of the channels. I felt glamorous while doing so.Chicago

Then on to the Z bar, which followed the elegant, upscale atmosphere of the Peninsula. We enjoyed delicious summer cocktails and light appetizers to start off the beautiful evening. Everything was flawless at the Z Bar; it is a must-see! Breakfast was also fabulous the next morning at the Peninsula. where I enjoyed a delicious iced coffee and avocado toast.Chicago

I look forward to returning to Chicago and enjoying my next lavish stay at the Peninsula Chicago. It really was the suite life at the Peninsula!
