Adventure meets luxury this September when Silversea Cruises introduces its newest cruise this September. The destination? The Galapagos Islands.

Silversea will be the first to offer a socially and environmentally responsible luxury cruising experience to the Galapagos. As this is a destination that resides near the very top of my travel bucket list, I was eager to learn how the ultra-luxury cruise line would make this experience its own. 

It starts with a new vessel, the Silver Galapagos, which accommodates 100 passengers — a size not uncommon in the region but boutique by most cruising standards. Silversea maintains the level of luxury its guests have come to expect with all-suite, ocean-view accommodations and personalized butler service. The completely all-inclusive excursion includes onboard amenities, wines and spirits and gourmet cuisine.  

My guess is that those who choose one of Silversea’s two seven-day itinerary options will be choosing this destination for other reasons. Most likely they are eager to get a glance at some of the most unique and vast wildlife in the world, including iguanas, penguins, giant tortoises, blue-footed boobies . . . and my all-time favorite, the sea lions! Or perhaps for the other land- and sea-based adventures, like swimming, snorkeling and hiking throughout this natural paradise.
