Always on the go! I was traveling to see my good friend Nick Teare in Maryland and needed a quick meal on the way from Philadelphia. (It’s a trip of about three hours and some change). Blaze Pizza was on the route, and I decided to give it a try.
Here’s the low-down is for all my picky pizza lovers: The set-up is very similar to Chipotle or Subway, where you chose your favorite toppings. Between meats, cheese, veggies . . . and don’t forget your fungus (LOL), the choice is yours. The pizza is personal-sized, so don’t worry about getting half this or that for a friend with a different palate. This is a perfect spot to get a quick meal the way YOU want it. The only complaint I have was that there weren’t any outlets to charge up my laptop. : (

After a long drive from our previous destination, it was a relief to see Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg in our view. When we pulled into the hotel court, I felt like we were pulling up to a royal palace. Considering the hotel was originally built as a castle for Prince Elector Johann Wilhelm II of Duesseldorf and his wife, Maria-Luisa of the Medici family, my thought wasn’t that far off.
