It’s finally time for me to write about my business trip to South Korea in June. My journey started at New York’s JFK airport. I flew through security and made my way to the China Airlines lounge to enjoy a meal and relax before my flight. I flew business class on China Airlines for my trip, and I cannot emphasize enough how happy I am that I chose the carrier.

Upon boarding, I inspected the MOSCHINO amenity kit and was not disappointed. There was a complimentary luggage tag; Moroccanoil lip balm, hair treatment and lotion; an exceptionally soft eye mask; a mini hair brush; as well as a toothbrush, floss and toothpaste. Following meal service, I changed into more comfortable clothes and was ready to lie back and explore the movie selection. I fell asleep halfway through Crazy Rich Asians (my go-to movie for every flight), and when I woke up, it was time to change back into my airport outfit before landing in Taipei to continue on to Seoul.

While I was in South Korea, I had a few opportunities to try some incredible food. I was lucky enough to have one of the dishes from Studio Sang X Must be MANGO Dessert at Peninsula Lounge & Bar inside the Lotte Hotel Seoul. The mangos were perfectly ripe and paired with equally delicious accoutrements. Switching over to my favorite meal of the whole trip: traditional Korean BBQ in the capital of Gyeonggi Province, Suwon. The table was filled from edge to edge with delicious toppings and side dishes to add to my lettuce wraps.

My favorite excursion was definitely my stop at The Shilla. Since opening its doors in 1979, the dedication to Korean hospitality is prevalent throughout the property, blending modern luxury with elegance. The highlight was The Distillers Library, every whiskey lover’s dream. I only had time for a brief tour, and I was incredibly impressed with the attention to detail and rich history woven into every corner. This whiskey-focused space showcases five whiskeys imported from Europe and rare whiskey collections only available in Korea. I would be doing a disservice to the hotel if I didn’t also mention my time at Clé de Peau Beauté Spa. This is the brand’s first luxury spa, and every detail is designed to elevate unparalleled beauty and wellness experiences. I experienced the 120-minute Synactif Signature Age Defying Retreat. The massage melted away all the tension from my travels, while the facial rejuvenated my skin, leaving my face fresh and hydrated.

I didn’t get to spend as much time as I wanted in the country, and I can’t wait to revisit my favorite spots from this trip and explore new ones.
