It’s that time of year again — and I’m not talking about the start of spring and the hopes of warmer, sunnier days. I’m talking about the time to start bidding in GT’s annual auction to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! Every bid fights cancer, with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to the charity’s work to find a cure for all cancers, particularly blood and lymph cancers.
Over the past six years I’ve been working on the auction, I’ve heard wonderful stories about people’s experiences with the hotel stays, airline tickets and travel products they’ve won in the auction. This could be your year to find your own story! Readers count on our auction yearly to plan all their independent leisure travel. And why not? Most of the items listed on our auction website will go for below the retail value and toward a great cause!
I’ve been involved with LLS personally since 2011 and can attest to the amazing work done by the organization. I implore you to help; bid here until May 1.
In case you haven’t had a chance to visit the site yet, here’s a little taste of what is up for bid:
- Two round-trip business-class tickets on Asiana
- Two round-trip Executive First tickets on Air Canada
- A three-night stay at The Address Downtown Dubai
- A three-night stay at The Benjamin
- Two round-trip business-class tickets on Brussels Airlines
- Two round-trip business-class tickets on Etihad Airways
- A three-night stay at Four Seasons Maui
- A three-night stay at the all-inclusive Live Aqua Cancun
- Two round-the-world business-class tickets on oneworld
- A two-piece set of Travelpro luggage

Why Japan Is Best Explored by Sea with Princess
Japan is a destination that rewards repeat visits because no two regions — or seasons — feel quite the same. One moment, you’re wandering through centuries-old geisha districts in Kanazawa. The next, you’re watching neon reflections dance across Tokyo streets long after midnight.

Sep 17, 2026High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture
It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.
