In the travel and hospitality industry, it is well known that one of the largest-growing travel markets resides in China. Cruise lines, hotels and airlines are looking to both attract Chinese travelers and increase their product offering within China.
While this is not a new trend, it is fair to say Hilton was ahead of the curve by being one of the very first international hotel groups to open in China. This year they celebrate their 25th anniversary of that opening. Now with 34 different properties in 20 cities across China, Hilton is an established brand with the Chinese people and has ambitious plans to grow.
How ambitious? How about 115 projects currently under way which include their entire portfolio of brands — Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn. Their goal is to grow from the current 34 properties to 150 properties within mainland China.
