When a houseful of roommates separates and goes their own ways throughout the country, you do everything in your power to see each other again (even if it’s a quick hangout in an overlapping city). Thankfully, three of four roommates from college were in the Philadelphia area last week and were able to meet up for much-needed dinner and drinks at Parc in Rittenhouse Square.

After not seeing one another for what felt like an eternity, we had so much to catch up on: Taylor Swift’s new album, Dancing with the Stars, all things Penn State and, of course, updates on our own lives as post-roommates (the consensus is: It’s not fun …).

The conversation was ever flowing — just like our wine. Sauvignon Blanc for me and Riesling for Anastasia and Mackenzie; we were back right where we left off. With the table’s order comes the most fabulous complimentary bread basket. Filled with fresh-baked sourdough, an authentic French baguette and (my personal favorite) cranberry-walnut boule, it was the perfect way to welcome our meal.

Steak Frites for me; the ribeye was exceptional and seared to melt in my mouth with every bite. The frites were accompanied with a house-made mayo but also ketchup upon request.

Salmon for Anastasia and the cheeseburger for Mackenzie; both raved how full of flavor their dishes were. Check out our official ratings on TikTok: HERE!

Admiring the atmosphere of the restaurant, we never wanted to say goodbye. The lovely host offered us each a complimentary matchbox upon our departure which made us want to stay even more.

However, we had plans to satisfy our sweet tooth with the weekly sundae special at 1-900 ICE CREAM, down the street. How yummy does this sound: peanut butter and espresso soft serve, salted caramel brûlée, house-made snack medley crunch, and a base layer of chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting? Creating silly excuses to spend more time together, we eventually had to say goodbye, as Anastasia was headed back to Denver early the following day.
