This week is my first time attending the GT Tested Reader Survey awards, and I am excited to be in Los Angeles for the festivities.
My first time attending any award show with the company was this past September, when I joined the team in New York City for the Wherever Awards. It was an interesting and fulfilling experience, but I am really excited for my first GT Tested Reader Survey awards.
I was out the door by 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday. Then I hightailed it down I-95, went through security and arrived at my gate a few minutes after boarding started. A short flight later and we touched down in Atlanta. Luckily, my flight to Los Angeles departed from the same terminal, so I didn’t have to go too far to find my gate for the next flight.
The second flight felt like it dragged on forever, and my early morning finally started to catch up to me. Once we landed, I made my way to the specific spot where arrivals can get taxis and rideshares and got a Lyft to the Fairmont Miramar, where I am staying.
The trip has been uneventful so far, save for an early morning and packed cross-country flight. The next item on the agenda is a team dinner at The Peninsula Beverly Hills tonight. I have never been to California, let alone Los Angeles, but I am excited to get out and explore Santa Monica, even if it is only for a half hour as I step away from work.
