With summer in full swing, some friends and I have thrown around ideas for a seasonal road trip. Being on the East Coast, beach-side options are aplenty, within a few hours’ drive in either direction.

Narrowing down our options, a few of us can’t get over a Finger Lakes trip we took a couple years ago, and the idea to revisit keeps making its way back on the list. As if a sign from the road trip universe, I saw some news about The Harbor Hotel Collection’s new Empire State Road Trip, curated around New York State’s most popular regions, including some of our favorite stops from our last trip.

The road trip experience suggests stays at Chautauqua Harbor Hotel on Chautauqua Lake, Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel on Seneca Lake and 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel along the Saint Lawrence River.

Along the ride, guests making two or more (consecutive) stops at Harbor Hotel Collection hotels will enjoy a complimentary road trip snack cooler, fully loaded with essentials for time on the road between destinations. There’s so much to do in the area, a mini road trip between lakes and attractions sounds pretty idyllic after more than a few months at home.
