Early last year I wrote about Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar and how much I love the food. While we picked up food during the earlier months of lockdown, we had not been back for indoor dining until recently, and my oh my, how I missed it!
We went in late February, and due to the cold weather and rough wind, outside service was not available. Luckily, the booths were spaced out and protective glass divided each one. We sat near the bar, which was great because seating isn’t open at the bar and it made us feel a bit safer.
Now on to the good stuff: the food! We started with the anticipated Korean BBQ Chicken Lettuce Wraps — the freshness and quality of the produce never fails to impress me — and the Harvest flatbread, new to us and adding a pleasant crunch to the wrap when combined.
For my entrée, I went with the braised short ribs, the best I’ve had so far! They were pillow soft and melted in my mouth like butter. They were served over roasted garlic mashed potatoes with a side of seasonal root vegetables and Brussels sprouts. Nathan ordered the Roasted Root Vegetables and Quinoa Bowl with chicken, and it was also a hit!
We enjoyed some wine with our dinner but were too full for dessert. Leaving Harvest, we spoke on the way back about how much we needed a night out. Even for those of us lucky enough to have already been homebodies, not being able to have a special occasion out to look forward to has been difficult. It takes a toll. And it may have spurred us to go out a little more often (while practicing safety protocols). You can look for a recap of my adventure to Rocco’s at the Brick Hotel in my next blog!
Where have you ventured so far?
