I just took my first trip with All Nippon Airways, and I must say I was very impressed with their business class seats from Los Angeles (LAX) to Tokyo Narita (NRT). ANA operates Boeing 777-330ER aircraft out of LAX featuring their new fully flat, staggered business-class seats. The fully flat seating is becoming more important not only to me but also to business travelersl. With the staggered seating I felt like I had my own suite. The extra counter space allowed me to put all my books, gadgets and, more importantly, my glasses within easy reach. Their business class was very simple but had all the amenities I needed, including a great blanket, new “Hollywood” movies and a great menu selection. I was a bit disappointed they did not have a traditional amenity kit for each passenger; rather, baskets with ANA-branded products were available to pick and choose what you needed.

As I was traveling to Asia, I chose their Japanese cuisine and experienced a tasty grilled yellow tail with teriyaki. The miso soup was a familiar treat, and the sticky rice complemented the meal nicely. My flight attendants were very pleasant and helpful during the flight, making it an overall good experience.
