The past few weeks have been cold and snowy on the East Coast, making it less than enjoyable to spend time outside. Ahead of the most recent snowfall in New Jersey, my family and I decided to brave the cold with a day trip to Princeton, New Jersey.

We started with brunch at Agricola. We shared the indulgent, warm, buttered cinnamon roll to start our meal. It was the perfect sweet bite and large enough to share. I ordered the grilled chicken pita pocket as my entrée. The large pita was stuffed with grilled chicken, hummus, avocado, tomato, cucumber, arugula and a lemon oregano dressing, with sweet potato chips on the side. It was filling without being heavy, and I enjoyed the flavor combination. The portion size was huge, and I brought half home with me.

After brunch we briefly walked over to the Princeton University campus to look at the beautiful buildings. Next, we wanted to squeeze in some shopping and made stops at a few of my favorite shops in town: Labyrinth Books, Princeton Record Exchange and Princeton Consignment.

Our last stop of the day was a short drive from downtown Princeton to Amazing Escape Room. We did a speakeasy-themed room and had such a good time, we decided to book a second room with a submarine theme.

We had a perfect day enjoying family time outside of the house before getting snowed in!
