Over the weekend, I saw my mother perform in a local play at Newtown Presbyterian Church. The play was A Gift to Remember by Debbie Macomber.

My family is involved in the church and, besides acting, my mother helped with painting and my father with set building. I had the pleasure of watching.

My father, grandmother, a family friend and I all decided to go to the Sunday afternoon performance, nice because a lot of people from church came for the same show, about a group of strangers stuck at a train station on Christmas Eve. The characters grow and eventually become as close as family. It was a heartwarming show, and everyone did a fantastic job.

After the play, we all went to one of our favorite local restaurants, Adriana’s Little Italy, and had a wonderful meal with great conversation.

If they didn’t take so long to put together, I would love to see these shows biweekly!

Look out for the next production by the Newtown Presby Players, and maybe I will see you there.
