Last Thursday, Global Traveler celebrated the winners of the 2014 Leisure Travel Awards with an event and presentation in Santa Monica. The rooftop of the Hotel Shangri-La, with its beautiful ocean view, provided a scenic backdrop for the party. Just before a speech from GT‘s publisher, Fran Gallagher, guests were wowed by the stunning sunset on the Pacific coast.
This was my second stay at the Hotel Shangri-La. I was excited to sample its event menu, which certainly did not disappoint. The food theme was based on some of the winning destinations, and my favorite item was a perfectly cooked slice of prime rib.
