Proper Hospitality’s Texan outpost invites guests to its all-new The Quill Room, created by acclaimed designer Kelly Wearstler. Austin Proper Hotel’s new space joins the hotel’s signature restaurant The Peacock, as well as its rooftop bar La Piscina, overlooking Austin.

The Quill Room blends Old-World opulence with modern elegance. Located on the second floor, the space features signature cocktails, classic martinis and tasty bites. Signature cocktails include Love Letter, a blend of elderflower, Prosecco, sparkling water and an edible flower; La Vie en Rose, a jalapeno-infused mezcal with Lillet Rose, crème de mezcal and rose water; and Vieux Carré, a concoction of rye whiskey, cognac, Cocchi di Torino, Benedictine and Peychaud’s. Dishes include petite camembert, potted foie gras custard and green goddess crudité plateau.
Textural wood and a metal-clad bar serve as the foundation of the space, complete with hints of neon by a local Austin artist.

Furnishings pay homage to an array of decades, ranging from the 1960s all the way to the 90s, with pieces sourced from across Europe as well as from the nearby and famed Round Top Antiques Market. The Quill Room also boasts an engaging collection of books; art; and a custom, upright, self-playing illuminated Edelweiss piano for endless entertainment.
The Quill Room is open Wednesday–Saturday, 6 p.m.–12 a.m.
