With the official opening of Andaz Ottawa ByWard Market, the brand makes its first entry into the country. The 13^th Andaz property, the hotel is set in the historic ByWard Market, near an array of shopping, dining, cultural and nightlife attractions. “We are very excited to introduce the Andaz brand to such a special city like Ottawa that has so much history and culture to share. The hotel offers 200 guestrooms, six meeting spaces, a restaurant and bar and a rooftop lounge. Each of the 16 floors features a design inspired by a Canadian province or territory. The lobby reflects a lounge-like atmosphere, with custom light fixtures and seating. Stone flooring, oak paneling, copper accents, local artwork and patterned rugs all add to the décor. The signature restaurant is feast + revel, serving New Canadian cuisine incorporating local and organic ingredients. The rooftop bar and lounge is Copper Spirits & Sights, featuring craft cocktails and seasonal beers, small plates, great views and open fire pits. The locally inspired dining and beverage options extend into the guestrooms, where visitors can find complimentary and locally sourced minibar offerings, including Hummingbird Chocolate, Harvey & Vern’s sodas, Tawse Wines and more. “Our approach when it comes to food and beverage is all about creating a social space that brings people together and offers incredible options inspired by Ottawa’s culture. Ottawa has deep culinary influences from France and England so our food pays homage to this history with British and French touches. Andaz plans to open three other properties by the end of the year in Scottsdale, Delhi and Riviera Maya.
